This story has been brought to our attention by a channel visitor and after a little digging we discovered this story came to light last year when Sky News carried out an investigation and uncovered alleged fraud committed against students and their families by a Lib Dem politician, Dr Vincent McKee. Quoting Sky News: "A Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate has been suspended from the party following a Sky News investigation. Dr Vincent McKee has been implicated in defrauding students out of thousands of pounds in tuition fees. The 52-year-old offers private tuition through the Institute of Colleges and University Teachers (Icut), in Coventry. But students and parents who hand over bank details to the company have discovered large sums missing from their accounts. Dr McKee has stood as a Liberal Democrat candidate for parliament in four general elections and is currently head of policy for the party in Coventry. Dr McKee is also a governor of two Coventry primary schools. In total, we found five case studies suggesting ICUT has taken a total of £5559 from students' accounts without authorisation, most of which they claim hasn't been refunded. One student who agreed to pay £90 in tutorial fees, found £685 missing from her bank account said: "That money was for Christmas presents for my family. I called him several times to ask for my money back but he kept making excuses. My sister and I went to Coventry and turned up on his doorstep and refused to leave. But he yelled ...
