On July 2, 1956, Elvis went into RCA's NYC studios to record "Hound Dog." It was the first song on which the vocal talents of the Jordanaires were used. Take #31 was selected by RCA for release. "Hound Dog" had a 28-week stay on Billboard's Top 100 chart, peaking at #2 for three weeks. The Platters' "My Prayer" and then Elvis' "Don't Be Cruel" kept "Hound Dog" from the top spot. The song was number one for three weeks on the Country Juke Box chart and number one for one week on the rhythm & blues chart. Sales in 1956 alone exceeded six million copies. This is the picture disc issue of "A Legendary Performer Vol. 3" from the 1970's, featuring the original mono release of "Hound Dog."
The Irish Wolfhound is best known for bringing down wolves in its homeland several centuries ago. The breed was so successful at the task, wolves are now extinct in Ireland. The same almost happened to the breed after its services were no longer needed.
My interpretation of HP Lovecraft's short story "The Hound", created using The Movies game by Lionhead. A tale of murder, grave-robbing and madness based on the 1922 short story written by HP Lovecraft. It was actually among the first batch of stories he sent to "Weird Tales" magazine. The custom backdrops and overlays are mostly created from personal photographs taken by myself and the soundtrack was mixed by myself. The buildings and streets are all Edinburgh's Old Town and the forest background from the car was taken from a woodland walk in Sweden. The photographs of the ancient gloomy church were taken in and around Inchcolm Abbey on the Firth of Forth. It's actually a very nice place and if you're in the Edinburgh area I would highly recommend a boat trip there! (www.maidoftheforth.co.uk The blood splats were downloaded from www.8eyebaby.com.
