Mikael Trillo-Figueroa: A Prayer's Labyrinth -Voices from a Ancient Path- Ryoma Takaoka, trombone - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Work Description - The aesthetic starting point of this piece - A Prayer´s Labyrinth - is an attempt to break in compositional terms the common linear listening experience by eg introducing gradually abrupt major jumps within the instrument range. The piece opens with a single note which slowly advances gradually in form of small changes into almost uncontrollable gestures. These gestures are created by adding - as former mentioned - major jumps which tends to paradoxical break up the piece linear development. The events are mainly notable towards the end of the piece, where the performer is pushed to the limits of what is physically possible. The music follows up by a memorandum section which reminds us of the past but now in a rather questioning mode which finally capitulates in a unavoidable melancholic song-like pray: a further reminder of the memories of the lost victims by the catastrophes caused by the present global climate changes and of our unbalanced immutable life situation on earth. - In Memoriam of the Victims of the Tsunami 3/11-2011 Japan - For more information please visit trillo-figueroa.com ...
