Six Newark high school seniors have been selected Star-Ledger Performing Arts scholarship finalists for 2008. Ashley Retamar, Whitney Giles, Adriana Allgood, Rocynda Brantley, Khadijjah Mote, and Naja Selby were named finalists and after a round of interviews on April 9, the field will be narrowed to three winners which will be announced at an awards dinner.

He is speaking highly of NTDs Divine Performing Arts. After watching the Divine Performing Arts show last year, Mr Zhang praises it as a high-level performance and is thrilled that it is coming to Taiwan on its world tour. As a well-known gynecologist in Tainan City, Dr. Zhaorong Zhang has long showed concern for local issues like education, medical services and social benefits. He donated money for the construction of two music museums in the area and had been awarded for his work in the community four times. [Zhaorong Zhang, Doctor]: "My two children began to learn folk dancing when they were young. So, I am quite familiar with the dances like Dunhuang and flying maidens in Heaven. I like their music very much. The customs, dance, setting and music of the Divine Performing Arts are all of high-level. I think they will improve the cultural level of Taiwan. Their global tour helps westerners understand what Chinese traditional dance is about. I feel it is an opportunity to promote Chinese culture."
